These Terms & Conditions govern the enrolment and daily attendance of children at Mother Hen Pre-School & Day Care. By enrolling a child, parents and guardians agree to the terms set out below.

Operating Hours

The school operates Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 17:30. Children must be dropped off and collected within these hours unless prior arrangements have been made with the school.

  • Children will only be allowed to attend classes once fees for the applicable month have been paid in full.
  • Registration is a once-off, non-refundable payment made at the time of enrolment.
Banking details for fee payment are provided directly to parents/guardians upon successful enrolment and are not published publicly for security reasons.

  • Every child must wear the school uniform every day, Monday to Thursday.
  • Friday is P.E. day — children should come dressed in their PE kit.
  • Uniform is sold at the school and children are expected to be in school uniform daily.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
  • Children must be handed over to the teacher on duty at the school gate.
  • If a parent wishes for a friend or relative to collect their child, the school must be informed in advance.
Personal Grooming
  • Parents must not plait their children's hair in braids.
  • No long earrings are permitted.
  • No beads are permitted.
Admission & Reception Class

Children are streamed into classes according to age. For a child to qualify for Reception class, they must be at least four and a half (4½) years old by January and must have previously attended pre-school.

Requirements to Bring

Upon enrolment, parents/guardians are required to provide the following:

  • Copy of the child's birth certificate
  • A4 paper
  • Wipes (monthly)
  • Scented markers
  • Crayons
  • Pocket file
  • Blanket
  • Vaseline
  • 1 litre milk × 2
  • 1 packet of wet wipes and 3 toilet paper rolls (monthly)

The curriculum is designed to develop listening and communication skills, creativity through drawing, painting, dancing and drama, an interest in reading and writing, classification and fine motor skills, and personal hygiene and good habits, within a play-based, learner-centred environment.

Educational Trips & School Activities
  • The school undertakes one educational trip per term. The cost of trips is paid separately from school fees.
